Boys Swim Place 20th at State

Last weekend the boys had their state swim meet. Five swimmers represented Lewis Central and combined schools. On Friday the 10th three boys were in the water for the prelims. Patrick Chase from Glenwood was in the 100 fly and 50 freestyle. Chase ended up in the finals with the 100 butterfly the next day. Gavin Rothmeyer dropped his time .10 and placed 31st. In the 500 Jimmy Koch dropped his time by one second and he placed 23.
The next day, Saturday the 11th, all the boys were in the water at finals. First Patrick Chase in the 100 butterfly, where he placed 9th overall with the time 52.09. After the first relay, the 200 freestyle relay where Reilly McMurphy (Jr.) Jimmy Koch (So.) Gavin Rothmeyer (Jr.) and Patrick Chase (Sr.) swam for LC. The boys placed 16th in their relay. The last event was the 400 freestyle relay, in the water was Aaron Matulka (Fr.) Jimmy Koch (So.) Gavin Rothmeyer (Jr.) and Patrick Chase (Sr.). The boys also placed 16th in this relay with a drop of 4 seconds.
Overall the boys placed 20th out of 28 scoring teams.
